Android is still being updated. The latest version of Android (Android P) has very advanced features and updated applications optimized for use on large screen devices. These applications are as follows.

Browser: The new version of Android includes a number of new features for easy, fast and convenient browsing using Quick UI controls. It also permanently supports common web standards such as CSS 3D, animation and CSS to all sites, mobile, or desktops. It also supports playback of HTML5 video content. In order to manage favorite content more conveniently, users can store Web pages locally so that they can view offline, including styling and images.

Gallery: Now that the new gallery supports PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol), users can connect the camera directly to the Android device and transfer google photos with a single touch.

Calendar: The calendar grid is getting bigger for readability and accurate touch targeting. In addition, the user can enlarge the display area of the grid by hiding the calendar list control. The control in the date picker was redesigned, making it easy to see and use.

Contacts:  In the contacts application, you can now easily find contacts using full-text search. The search returns matching results from all the fields stored for the contact.

Email: When replying or forwarding an HTML message, the Email application now sends both plain text and HTML body as a multipart MIME message. This will correctly format the message for all recipients. The IMAP account folder prefix is easy to define and manage. In order to conserve battery power and minimize cell data usage, applications now prefetch email from the server only when connected to a Wi-Fi access point.

An updated home screen widget allows users to quickly access more emails. Users can repeatedly display labels such as inbox, unread, starred, etc. The widget itself can now be resized both horizontally and vertically.

Enterprise support:Users can now configure HTTP proxies for each connected Wi-Fi access point. This allows the administrator to work with the user to set the proxy’s hostname, port, and bypass subdomain. This proxy setting is automatically used by the browser when the Wi-Fi access point is connected, and is optionally used by other applications as well. Proxy and IP settings are now backed up and restored via system update and reset.

For developers, the new version of Android extends the possibility that developers have new features to develop new and powerful applications for tablets and smartphones. Some of the new features for developers are as follows.
